We had a late dinner here on Thurs. The male waiter was courteous, professional and funny. The food came out in a timely manner and was great. However, we did witness a female co-worker speak quite rudely to other guests on Thurs and when we...returned on Friday night for another yummy dessert she was very rude to us and refused to seat us at any one of the several empty tables. We walked next door, and then saw her give another couple a table and menus....

Nothing but good to say about this little place. Our waiter spoke to me in fluent English and to my wife in French as was her wish. He gave good advice on the wine. I had the ribs which were amazing. Instead of meat falling...off the bone, here the meat fell off the meat! Only one bone between chunks of pork. My wife had the shrimp wok and it was also very good with lots of shrimp. The service was perfect.

This was the best looking option for us and it met our expectations! My confit duck leg was incredible, and the build your own steak tartare was a winner as well. You get your steak with an egg on top, then you get your capers,...pickles and other ingredients on the side so you can make it your way- very cool! Service was a little slow, but friendly and good enough. Very reasonable prices too!

While the food was ok and the setting very picturesque—across from the castle walls— it was the friendliness of two of the staff—Amandine and Dominique—that made us return a second time around! Thank you for making us feel so at home in Amboise!
