Lat14 Asian Eatery

I was between four and five stars for Lat14, but decided to round up. I've been to this restaurant multiple times over the years takeout in 2020 and 21 and the food is consistently good, plus there's a big ol parking lot!What I love: Basil Thai Wings: We've been ordering these for years and we aren't stopping any time soon. A little spicy, but SO good. Khao Soi Chiang Mai: My dad and his fiance use to split one of these every time, but finally were fighting over it so much that they got their own lol. The chicken in this dish is cooked perfectly and it makes great leftovers. Drunken Noodles: These are also very good and a great portion. This is my second favorite entree (first above).What I would skip: Lechon: It kills me to tell you to skip the pork belly, but I just don't love the texture on theirs. Take Tea to Tango cocktail: A rum, mango, thai tea cocktail? I should have LOVED it, but actually no one at out table did... the mango isn't detectable and the drink has a weird sour flavor.All in all, it's probably more of a 4.5 restaurant in my mind, but a really solid staple in Golden Valley overall.

We stopped in at an early dinner hour (4:30 PM). Staff was friendly and helpful as I was using a walker. The interior is contemporary and well designed for a quiet conversation. The inaugural ceiling is relatively sound absorbing. There are regular tables, higher bar stool tables and some outdoor patio seating. The food was well prepared with considerable attention to presentation. Drinks were beautiful but looked better than they tasted. We started with a delicious appetizer of crisp fried tofu glazed with a hoisin based sauce and just enough chili burn to wake up your palate without overwhelming the flavors. For dinner I had a vegetarian stir fried jackfruit curry that was beautifully made and carefully presented with fried basil leaves and crispy rice noodles. For dessert we had a coconut ice cream with chocolate chips, shards of caramel, and caramelized pineapple that was a wonder. Service was attentive without being pushy and also prompt. The bill was $116 for two of us. We left with a five star inner smile.

Overall a good experience! Waitress was super nice and friendly, helped us pick out our entrees. Food and drinks were definitely good. One thing I didn’t care for was the waiters were saying to tables around us that the kitchen staff wanted all orders at once..we weren’t told that and had ordered our appetizer first, then meal, and then added on another app so it felt like we had done something wrong with how we ordered.We got basil wings great flavor nice and crispy skinSnow crab wontons good ratio of the crab and cream cheese with the wontonBacon pineapple fried rice wasn’t our favorite was good but not greatCreamy Tom yum ramen this was probably our favorite thing we got. Flavor was amazing. The broth was so good!Definitely recommend if you are wanting something different for a dinner/date night!

Everything we ordered was completely and wonderfully delicious! The drinks, the appetizer, the entrees... wow!!! An additional bonus was our server named Trace. Pleasant, professional, engaging. Trace had an excitement for the food being served and it showed. It matched our excitement and joy as the dishes came out and our minds were blown away by the flavors that were presented. Generous portions as well. Lat 14, get ready! We will be back!Parking: Just needed to be patient.

Was a 30 min wait at 7:30pm on a Tuesday! Thankfully full service at the bar. Drinks were crazy and expensive, not impressed with what I ordered either. Food was delicious however and FAST! Service was personable.Food: 5/5
