"nice place, we thought to give it a try, and we will never regret it. The 35 euro menu is not exactly cheap (for France), but it is a must. The wine (Bergerac) was the best we've had in months, and the whole was very close to perfect. Not yet a star, but if they continue their magret de canard and selle d'agneau they are preparing them right now, that star should arrive one day"

We have been lunching at L'Atelier for three summers now, and it remains our absolutely favourite place in Perigueux! We are continuously impressed with the excellent quality food (reflecting fresh seasonal produce), top notch service and lovely ambience. The very well priced blackboard menu at lunch changes daily, and offers a choice of entree and a choice of main (delicious fish option always available) Fabulous freshly -cooked food that is beautifully presented in good sized portions makes lunching there a special occasion every time!! Desserts, too, are stupendous and creatively presented. The restaurant is owned by the excellent chef whose wife runs the front -of -house with a great smi...

Our group of four had an amazing meal at L'atelier. We each ate from the Gourmet Menu. We tried three of the four Entrees, and all were wonderful. The Foie Gras entree was one of two or three best dishes I have ever had, perfectly balanced flavors, textures and color. Just wonderful. Between us we tried all of the four of the available entrees (lamb, veal, tuna and turbot) and every one was great. Only two of us continued to the chocolate dessert, and it too was great. The service was perfect for our taste. Though our French isn't great, we like to try. Our waitress was willing to speak French - though I'm sure her English was better than our French. All in all, just a great experience.

In a week long trip of France, including Gordon Ramsey's in Bordeaux, this was by far the best food we ate! Lovely restaurant, fantastic front of house and most importantly incredible food prepared with love! My husband and I both had prawn ravioli and then steak with cheese and a macaroon dessert respectively to finish- all truly delicious. Initially booked a different restaurant but after chatting to locals in a wine bar changed to here- so glad we did!

Great summer evening on terrace. Incredible food: tuna tartare, magret de canard with grilled foie gras, finally nougat glacé with raspberry coulis. Wines are available in half bottles and in 500ml bottles as well as 750ml with a good range of quality appellations to chose from. Service is good and we felt well looked after. Definitely going back for our last night in Perigueux!
