Having walked past for many years it was good to actually go inside for a meal. Not open for Monday lunch which is our usual day to have a staff lunch.Food was great. Only a minor comment I had booked for 5 in advance, we were the only patrons in the place for quite some time and we had been allocated a small table for 4 with a chair on the end when larger tables were obviously available. When I asked for a change of table we were moved to the end of a large one without any problems.
Went there in May with a group. They don't take large bookings which is a bit awkward but get their early and secure the courtyard. The Southern Pride and $54 meat sample plate is perfect for this situation. Last night I took my partner for his birthday for an intimate dinner, it was loud but the service was great. The brisket was a little dry this time but otherwise fantastic. If you're a fan of the strange combination of Oysters, Smokehouse and Absinth, this is for you!
We had the shared platter option very generous provisions, and delicious food. However, we were uncomfortable with 6 of us packed on to a table that was meant for 4, and the constant loss of the drinks menu to other tables meant the restaurant missed out on selling quite a few drinks
