Food was OK but we got into an argument with staff because they were clearly dishonest. We are a family of 4 (two adults and two 7yr old) and we ordered 2 three course menus, one main for our kids to share one bottle of wine and one limonade. The main was the same price as two kids menus and was a local speciality whereas the kids menu offered just steak or charcuterie. The waitress tells us that the policy is to charge 6 euros when not everyone at the table orders.We argue that this is not relevant in our case as the main kids will share is the same price as two kids menus. She says that she needs to confirm with the chef. The topic is not raised again so we consider the subject to be close...
Good restaurant in terms of cuisine, however, we were extremely disappointed with the service... Indeed, we had arrived slightly ahead and felt from the beginning that we had "do a foolish"... (uplifting eyes to the sky) and what weighed us the most and the fact that we were a table of 9 but in order not to leave a person at the end of the table alone, we gathered together. The waitress then explained to us dryly that the next time we should book for 8 instead of 9... but at what time we are supposed to know the layout of the place, we did not plan a table plan in advance and we were not going to book for 8 while we were 9... in short, we were disappointed with the way we were greeted overal...
We shared an exceptional taste experience! The truffle served was to fall on the ground. And desserts were exquisite. In addition, the service was very pleasant and we were warmly welcomed in this authentic atmosphere with sublime décor! I strongly recommend this restaurant to the visitor of Mont-Dore. We went to eat in this restaurant this weekend and we spent a very good time the typical Auvergnat dishes were absolutely delicious the card of the restaurant typically Auvergnat we loved the only small flat we had a little cold for lunch but we had a great time and recommending this restaurant soon

Great evening, typical restaurant Auvergnat. Institution that reminds us of the Estaminets in the North of France. Very good reception and restoration of the terroir.Everything is homemade. Thank you for this moment and congratulations to the whole team. We'll come back without hesitation.
We had a great time as a family! The waitress, very kind, was perfect and the cook/owner was very pleasant and took the time to hear our opinions and chat with us. We had a great time, don't hesitate to go up to Bougnat to see this atypical room, you won't be disappointed! THANKS
I was there on my own. The service was the best, super nice and very attentive. The cooking is great, done with care. Would gladly go back again. It feels great to be there. Very personal atmosphere.
