Café du port was recommended to us by our host. Is that place you would properly never have found you self, and not dared to visit.It is located just by the port (hence the name) and from the terrace one has an excellent opportunity to study how the tide changes.It does not look very fashionable, nor from the outside neither from within, but is very cozy and has a local tavern touch to it. No “keeping up appearances” here.The clientele seemed to consist mostly of locals, young and old, involved in conversation and eating at the same time.We had the moulles marinièrs and they were perfect, as where the wine.Do remember to book a table in advance – as it is normally filled up every night.
We visited this seaside village about 6pm for a short visit to the north coast before heading back. The cafe was very popular with the locals but the staff were happy to take the time to explain their menu for my wife's food allergies and find us a table. The ambience was relaxing despite being busy, the food ordered and delivered quickly and we all agreed that the food was enjoyable and filling. The Breton moules and frites is recommended. Overall, good value for money.
Our yearly trip to Locquemeau wouldn't be complete without eating moules frites at Le Cafe du Port. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, large delicious serves for a reasonable price. The crepes desserts were delicious too. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Don't forget a walk around the pier at the end of the meal. Worth booking a table in Summer.
This is a delightful place in a delightful setting with awesome food and service. You can not go wrong by eating here. The moule-frites was perfect. We totally enjoyed ourselves and will return the next time we are in the area. If you are in the area you should go there for sure.
