Le Cedre - Reservar una mesa

Went there as after a local recommended the place - we were looking for somewhere nice , typical , not expensive for a family sunday lunch...Le Cedre was everything we wished for ! We were welcomed by the owner/waitress, who did her best to speak to us in English, which we did appreciate :-) There's a large terrace at the back where we could dine al fresco, but the weather was just a tiny bit too cold so opted to stay indoors. The dining room was bright with a minimal decor . Menu were reasonably priced, and well explained by the waitress.We opted for steak and tartare - and they didnt disappoint ! We felt this was a real french dining experience, with lovely bread and dips to start, starter, main course and a light dessert. The wine that was recommended was lovely and fairly cheap too. Service was great - we weren't rushed, and felt we could stay as long as we wanted, which suited us as we were catching up with relatives we hadn't seen in a long time. Overall, this was probably my favourite dining experience while in Villefranche - and we are now planning a big family event there in the summer to make the most of that terrace !

The staff were very nice and helpful. The food was good (but slow delivery due to a large group being served at the same time as us.) Good value and good food. Only downside was the speed of service so perhaps they should have brought in extra staff to manage the large group.

Great value for the experience. Sauces were better than average. Service excellent! Clean and well appointed restaurant. I will go back.
