Located on the Olmet run leading down from the top (and middle station) of the Poutran lift (i.e. on the way down to Oz Station).Small restaurant and all the better for it. It has a personal, cosy feel to it. A bit like eating in someone`s farm kitchen. Great place to be holed up if the weather closes in. This was not the first visit to Le Chalet d'Oz this season, but as the snow melts slowly, it could be the last for now, and another opportunity to check it. At a very busy lunchtime on a sunny Sunday the service was impeccable, fast and friendly, atmosphere not hectic and disorganized, but very quiet and pleasant, and the food was once again surprisingly good and never something else but hot, although we eat on the terrace (although it was not a very cold day). We have once again for one of the best tartifletts you can get in the Alps, and a delicious burger that was a real restaurant item, along with excellent frits and delicious hot chocolates. We have had the most wonderful time with our very friendly hosts Andy and Gill. The accommodation is superb, they offer apartments which can be self catered or half board and are so well equipped they would more than satisfy every need. Ideal for skiing as it's only 8 km from the nearest lifts at Oz which links up to Alpe d'Huez ski area and I believe if you don't want to drive you can catch the bus outside the Chalet or Andy can take you in the mini bus. We had two meals this season at Le Chalet d'Oz and it was an extraordinary experience every time. While most restaurants on the slopes, especially when they fight food on the terrace, to supply dishes and leave them warm, Le Chalet d'Oz supplies hot dishes that somehow stay hot for long enough you need to eat them. We have tried to tartiflette, soup of the day (pumpkin), stunning burgers, tasty pommes, as well as delicious profiteroles de madeleine and chocolate muffins. The only thing we didn't like was to spray Chantilly cream on the deserts, but that was a little problem that didn't make the whole experience worse.

Super setting between Alp d'Huez & Oz.Great family cooked cuisine- lots of lovely local dishes and some fantastic puddings.Warm welcome and all round great place either on terrace in the sun or snuggle up inside near the wood burning stove.A must visit venue if you are in Alp d'Huez, Oz or Vaujany.
Beautiful location with very polite and pleasant owners who run the restaurant as a couple. Do not expect fast food or a quick in and out as the owners serve and prepare the food, but instead relax in front of the fire and enjoy nice home made food.
This was a cosy little chalet, though they were a bit slow to get the sun deck set up on the day it was really nice, which was a shame. Good value though, food looked good but we never got to try it
Lovely find, great lunches, friendly service and beautiful views. A must visit Lovely ski down to Oz as well. Wether for coffee or lunch you should stop here. Food of food and reasonable priced.
