Last year we had the most amazing meal at Le Chaudron. It was so good, our teenagers were talking about going back all year. This year, the food is still nice, but not quite as good. The atmosphere is a little less homely and a bit more impersonal. There were a lot of little things that made it less enjoyable. There was no plate for the cooked meat from the 'Hot Stone ' meal and a bucket of frites for the tables. The young waitress was out of her depths and that made service slow and erratic. You can still have a nice meal here, but we no longer dream about the amazing 'Le Chaudron '
Loved the service, copious amount of food and tasty fondues. Tried all restaurants in Montchavin for lunch and this one was the best value for money, ambience and tasty regional treats. The Genepi at the end topped the experience and was happy to come back pretty much everyday to try the next best thing on the menu. Lovely cosy atmosphere with open fire and terrace on a sunny day was perfect to take in some sun and watch the skiers descend the slopes. Much recommended.
Restaurant chaleureux où vous trouverez des plats excellents, nous avons testé la tartiflette aux morilles et reblochonnade, c'est à tomber. L'assiette de tapas maison est parfaite et les vins de Savoie proposés sont très bons. Tout ça à des prix raisonnables. Le staff est aux petits soins pour ses clients. Pour information, le restaurant est affilié à l'hôtel bellecote. Une adresse à ne pas rater.
Atmosphere was perfect, well lit and EXTREMELY helpful and friendly staff. I love to have some raclette and fondue when I am in the area and Le Chaudron does not disappoint! Finish our meals off with some Genepi and I couldn't think of a better way to cap off a long day on the slopes. Their desserts were fantastic and we were able to enjoy them every night. Can't wait to go back.

A warm restaurant where you will find excellent dishes, we have tested the bite tartiflette and reblochonnade, it's to fall. The homemade tapas plate is perfect and Savoie wines are very good. All at reasonable prices. The staff is in small care for their customers. For information, the restaurant is affiliated to the hotel bellecote. An address not to be missed.
