My wife and I ate at this restaurant because of the recommendation of the owner of the inn where we stayed in Saint-Avertin on the outskirts of Tours. I am extremely glad we took her advice. It was a memorable meal for both of us.For starters, the restaurant is located near the Cher River (the same river on which the famous nearby chateau Chenonceaux is perched), and the outdoor seating is in sight of the water. The food is traditional French, but presented and prepared with modern flair.I immensely enjoyed eating from the a la carte menu a starter (entree) of foie gras, both in pate form and as a grilled liver. It was memorably delicious and well prepared. My wife had the ravioli stuffed with foie gras, which was very good as well. For mains, I had the pigeon (squab) roasted or grilled, complete with breast, thigh and liver. It was definitely one of the best preparations of this dish, one of my favorites, that I have ever enjoyed. In a word, superbly memorable. My wife had the monkfish risotto with smoked duck, which was as imaginatively prepared and delicious as it sounds. We ended with a superb cheese course and chocolate fondant. Highest possible recommendation!
