Le Clos De La Prairie

We booked to stay as a overnight stop on the way to the South of France. Unfortunately our train was delayed which means that rather than a relaxing arrival and dinner, we arrived stressed, hungry and tired. Immediately upon arrival we were made to feel so welcome, that our stress levels went down immediately, we decided to eat first and then be shown to our room the meal was excellent, each course was better than the previous and by the time we finished we felt all the stresses of our journey had disappeared. The restaurant and hotel are in a small village in what is a converted farmbouse and outbuildings. After dinner we were shown to our room and was so pleasantly surprised the bathrooms...

You are a fool to miss this gem. Sandrine is a delightful hostess and incredibly helpful and friendly. Sebastian her husband is the chef I wish we had two evening meals there it is exceptional, sensational and amazing. The restaurant is small and it’s a set style menu with choices, it is light and airy with a sitting area and a fire which in winter must be really cosy and lovely. The rooms are purpose built and very comfortable with views out over the paddock with the horses and the countryside rolling away. We absolutely love Le Clos De La Prairie and always stay there when in the area. Set in the beautiful seven valleys with its glorious countryside, this hotel is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. The hosts are very warm, friendly and professional. The accommodation is very clean and well presented. Each room is elegantly furnished with wide patio doors leading out to a private outside area which, in turn, overlooks stunning scenery. The room has all amenities you’d expect, the bed is very comfortable and bathroom very high spec. The breakfast is superb with fresh fruit, croissant and pastries, fresh bread, yoghurts, meats and cheeses, a choice of eggs… sets you up for the day perf...

Merci à Sandrine et Sébastien pour ce magnifique moment épicurien. J'ai toujours adoré la cuisine de Seb mais j'ai ressenti hier comme une marche supplémentaire gravie. Que dire de ce gravlax de saumon sur panacotta d'herbes. Un tableau tant visuel que gustatif ! La règle 5 fruits et légumes est respectée avec le seul plat. Un filet de bar parfaitement cuit sur un lit de légumes dont certains sont cuisinés de 2 façons . Une symphonie de goûts et de textures. Le dessert fraise rhubarbe en bouquet final! We have just stayed 4 nights in this beautiful place set in the heart of the countryside. So peaceful. Lovely room with patio and view overlooking a paddock with horses. Nothing to hear but birdsong, blissful. Sandrine and Sebastien were so welcoming and hospitable. The food is fantastic. We enjoyed our breakfasts there and had meals on two evenings which were exceptional. Sebastien deserves a Michelin star! Will definitely come here again to escape into the country! We made use of the hotel bikes on one day and enjoyed cycling to the Abbey and gardens nearby. Also not far from the coast so plenty of places to visit.

The quality of an establishment is not only considered to be in the plate, or the decoration in the room. But also to the human who is behind all this allowing to give a sincere, authentic and heart-filled soul. At the end of the Prairie, you will find an exceptional couple who has been able to meet all these criteria at a time. Good to you!

This was our third visit to Le Clos and we were not disappointed. The warm welcome from the owners, the comfortable room, and the delicious food make this a perfect place to break the journey to or from Calais. Prices particularly of the wine have increased since our last visit, but the quality is top rate. We'll be back!

Beautiful establishment. The bosses are very careful for their clients. It's been two times my husband and I have been going and are always as happy to go there. Idyllic and bucolic frame. Breakfasts at the top and ultra refined room.
