Le Crystal is unique for me in that it has an entrance on two different streets and on two separate levels. Built into the side of a hill, the upper level is just a staircase leading down into the restaurant. Which is the way we entered. The decor is of bricks and half timbered walls, added to this are several 1950's style modern paintings of people eating in what is to be presumed to be this restaurant. We arrived early and found the staff just sitting down for the Family Meal of employees. We have visited this restaurant 3 or 4 times on previous visits to Honfleur and have always enjoyed it.This time was a Sunday evening and the town was very busy. We decided to sit inside although there were outside tables available but felt they were a little cramped.Staff were friendly and attentive and we didn't have long to wait for our starter. We choose a 3 course meal priced at 12.90€ which we felt was extremely good value especially in Honfleur. I chose mussels in cream ( 1€ extra for the cream) which could have done with more liquid and larger mussels but again for the price paid was acceptable.The atmosphere is really nice, a typical French bistro with lovely paintings on the walls...
We had passed this restaurant several times as it was situated at the end of the street where we were staying.I had seen a lady sitting outside eating fish and chips as we passed by and decided to dine there before we left Honfleur.We were welcomed into Le Crystal and were quickly drinking aperitifs and checking out the menus.Three of us chose the two course meal of fish and chips served with tartar sauce and followed by cheese and salad.The fourth person in our group chose from the a la carte menu and had Skate which she said was delicious. She then made us green with envy!As we were eating our Brie and salad her Cafe Gourmond arrived - wow! It looked amazing and apparently tasted beautiful...
Interesting restaurant a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Le Vieux Bassin. Good range of set priced menus and a la carte offering something for everyone. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. Our food was well presented but not very tasty. The teenager with us thought that he had ordered prawns, but got a plate of whelks in their shells which he tried to eat but found them to be tasteless and rubbery. The fish skewer looked better than it tasted and those who had fish with a ginger sauce, found the flavour of ginger difficult to discern.Wines were expensive for what was on offer.Disappointing food but good location with pleasant ambiance.

We have made it a habit to have lunch in Honfleur before getting the ferry home and we are over several times a year. Recently we have been going to Le Cafe Du Port which we like but it was closed this weekend. We went in to Le Crystal and loved it immediately. The staff were very friendly and quick and spoke a little English. There was a range of different priced set menus which were good value and best of all it feels like a proper French bistro. The cidre was splendid too as you'd expect. We will be returning.
An excellent establishment for a value Lunch, set menu at 12.90 euros for three courses of very edible food, on arrival greeted by the Maitre d', professional, bistro seafood excellent, Brouilly @ 29.00 euros, quaint interior with a period Wurlitzer playing throughout the meal 60.00 euros, three course lunch, wine & coffee (the secret is to drink more than the cost of the food)
Visited for a meal while staying in Honfleur. The atmosphere was great and the staff very friendly and helpful. We had the Crystal seafood platter which was excellent. The wine was also a reasonable price. I would recommend
The prices are ok, but the I was rather disapointed about the food. I also found it disturbing, that the table right aside of us was cleaned with a spray while we were eating.

The restaurant is nice but the food was very plain and most of the dishes were not tasety. Service is not the best to say the least. I do not recommend.
