"Good restaurant. Not too expensive and the owners are always friendly. Moule frites are great value as is the house wine from Sarrat de Gundy next door. Well worth a visit."

We went to Le Ficky because it's the nearest cafe/bar/restaurant to the campsite [Camping Municipal de Pissevaches]. We thought we'd have a drink and consider eating there. It seems to be run by two men. One is pleasant and served us drinks quickly once he noticed us. When we arrived there were only a few tables that were occupied, we went to sit at a table near the middle and under cover. However, the other man started waving his arms around and saying all the tables were booked, although there weren't any reserved signs on them. We were directed to a small round table on the edge with a lot of finger pointing from the man with the beard. This didn't just happen to us, everyone else who arrived was directed to an outside table with the same finger pointing by the same man. He was setting up tables for dinner, but didn't seem to have allowed enough time to do this, because he looked very stressed. We watched one family who hadn't reserved left waiting for about 5 minutes while he wiped tables and bustled around. Eventually, he produced a new folding table for them and they were able to sit down. The moules frites seemed popular with the couple of tables that were eating and the ice creams looked interesting, but we decided to walk another 5 minutes or so further towards the middle of St Pierre, where we found a group of half a dozen restaurants with a good choice of menus.

Had a lovely meal here tonight. It seemed to be full of locals as the patron was chatting to almost all of them but that didn't stop him from waiting on us. He quirkily reminded me of basil faulty but that only added to the evening. Again as in my other reviews I have limited French but he understood quite clearly, was courteous and helpful and not once did I seem to struggle. He was even happy to take a selfie which I thought I would do just for trip advisor. So to round up, food was good, wine was good, service was good and if you like to take your time and eat the French way you'll be happy here, Brits look this place up you'll feel welcome!

We like the atmosphere on the patio at Le Ficky, it's a mixture of locals , people from the campsite down the road and passers by. They have put sides on the patio at the front that can be pulled down on windy days and it makes a big difference. The moules frites were some of the best we've had. The sauce has plenty of wine in it and although the chips are frozen, they're very well cooked and have flavour. The main course salads are interesting, copious and fresh. The ice cream menu looks well worth a try next time. On another good note, the owner we found a bit terse last year has been to the smile shop and is quite affable now.

Le Ficky is a few minutes' walk from the centre of St Pierre so it's a bit quieter and parking is easier. On a hot day in August we all enjoyed the salads which were fresh and copious. The ice creams are good too and the prices are reasonable.
