"If there is table at the restaurant area - grab it! The food was very good and the service was friendly and able to speak good english. I had the salad du terroir, it was very good! I don't even like salads otherwise."

We zipped up the Bachas for a look at the views and some morning coffee in the sunshine on the pretty terrace of this new restaurant. We sat in the wrong part of the terrace. Apparently. The waitress, who had all of 4 tables to serve, shouted over to us a mumbled message that although I speak French, I didn't quite get the first time.On being asked to repeat her communication the second time she yelled it rudely and gesticulated with her hands for us to move. All eyes, all French, from the other tables turned towards us with amused stares (yes and you people could do with a couple of politeness lessons too)We sat down at another table. Le Flocon's worth a visit just to admire the remarkable architecture. It's "log cabin" style but in quite a spectacular way. Also, the interior has lots of quirky objects and obviously a lot of thought's been put into its design.A pity, then, about the food in the self-service section. It is distinctly average (I'm being kind here) and over priced for what it is. The lasagna was a disgrace. This, by the way, is NOT a one-off as the food was poor last year but we thought we'd give it a go again. A mistake, sadly. This restaurant really does need to improve its food and then it could easily be one of the best in the whole ski area. But for the building, I'd have given it just a 2-star T A rati...

We had a lovely lunch in the main restaurant (table service and a la carte) - beautiful setting and view, fantastic crackling fire and excellent wine! The service was brilliant - our waiter was very friendly and polite. The self service section was not as good unfortunately - food was average. If you go make sure you eat in the restaurant section - well worth a visit!

Watery soups and angry owner is the lasting memory of this mountain /ski restaurant. It is essential you take off your ski gear and buy a drink BEFORE visiting the WC or the owner may have a fit and demand you leave to use the public WC wherever that is. The self service is typical mountain food but avoid the very watery soup which is overpriced.
