Le Grenier - Reservar una mesa

We stopped off here on the way back from Quiberon. It was raining really hard and so our planned walk around Auray was cancelled! This place had the advantage that we could park right outside and, anyway, none of us wanted chain restaurant food. So, we took a chance and we were glad we did. The waitress greeted us with a huge smile and showed us to our table. The plat du jour was cuisse de canard confit which is one of my favourites so that was an easy choice! My wife had the same and my son had the children's menu which included a main course, dessert and drink. He had tagliatelle bolognaise. From memory, the plat was 8€50 and the children's menu 6€50. Forget la Closeraie and the Chasse-Mar.......this is the place for great food and value for money. Only open at lunchtime and looks innocent, tucked on the side of the Super U supermarket in the Zone Oceanne. All the ingredients are fresh and the 2 course menu at 11.60 Euros is unbeatable. It changes every day and is always good. On the a la carte side there are many good things including the best pizzas in the Far West of France. Excellent wine list including carafes and service very friendly and efficient.

This is the un-assuming brasserie bar at the Super U supermarket. The food is very good e.g terrine maison, confit de canard, good salads, good carafe wines. It's all you need for a very pleasant lunch if you are passing by. The Entrée du Jour is Eu 11.80, changing every day and a half-litre of Rose wine is 4.90. Service was excellent and the waitresses were delightful.

Having spent some time and money in Super U, we decided to have lunch here,very pleased that we did. Very good food and service.
