Le Grenier a Sel

We found this restaurant open on a Monday evening. Seems most places close on Mondays. We arrived late and starving after a frustrating day boating on the canal and dealing with locks that wouldn't open/close. The food is to die for! It's cooked to perfection on an open grill. There were side dishes of vegetables as well. We loved the desserts, and enjoyed the wine. The service was spot on, the girl serving us was friendly and efficient and spoke English well. We enjoyed it so much we went back for dinner a second time on our return. Would definitely recommend this warm inviting restaurant.

In this old building which I guess used to be a storage place for salt, there is a very large grill where meat is cooked to perfection. We went there on a Sunday for lunch and it was very full. Its a bit tight but apparently it was market day and that's why it was so full. The food was traditional and in between the four of us we had beef, lamb and duck and all were cooked to perfection. We were too full for dessert so we just had one vacherin to share and we all agreed it was absolutely delicious. A place to visit again!

We arrived without a reservation (take note) but they found a place for us. Lots of locals (always a good sign). The food (snails and grilled lamb) was excellent and the service responsive. With a nice wine the bill was a reasonable 53 Euros What is not to like?

Great food without breaking the bank. The steaks are some of the best in France within this price range. Escargots and jamons are also highly recommended.

we enjoyed a fine meal, excellent wine and service - great BBQ food choices - wonderful ambience and very enjoyable.
