we ate on a normal Tuesday evening at “Le roi du Couscous” and had the “Couscous Royal”. the cousin himself was perfect and fluffy, the sweet broth was good (although slightly over salt, the lamb-kebabs were ok to be good, but could have been cooked...longer and the merguez were ok to good, but lacked the spicy taste that makes merguez so distinctive. it helped when I asked the waiter to bring some floor cumin on the table as a guide (to the mercguez in delicious to thief! . as noted in other reviews, the service is prompt, polite and honest. if they are looking for a quiet, honest cousin for a decent price, this is the place at “Le roi du Couscous” they actually feel like a welcome guest in...

we went to this restaurant, as it was close to our hotel and menu looked enthusiastic. we hadn't even tried Algerian food, but it was quite similar to Moroccan food we like. the service was great and the waiter always smiled. I would recommend the...Kouskosgerichte, where they can choose their meat and are also served in a beautiful brothel mix. I'm sure you won't starve here. I would definitely return and like to try other dishes on the menu.

Had it with menus touristiques? Cynical and bitter with pre-cooked mass-produced food heated up when they see you coming with your fat wallet? Get thee to the Roi du Couscous. Unpretentious, inexpensive, authentic Algerian couscous. Attentive and pleasant waiters. Get the Couscous special or royal...with a nice bottle of north african rose. What more could you want?
