Vegan-Vegetarian label should not discourage you from trying this high cuisine experience. You don 't have to be Vegan-Vegetarian to enjoy the surprises and the unique tastes that this chef offers. The view to the turquois lake is uncomparable. The waiter is a kind guy who...adds to the experience with his explainations. But beware: it 's a 3 hours dinner. When you 're free to leave, they offer you a surprise dessert that requires 35 more minutes to come. The restaurant was filled in 7 tables only. Now: if it is a slow-food concept, say a very slow food concept, the Customers should be at least informed. I perceived irritation in several guests. Why does this brilliant chef impose his timing...

Kudos to Giessbach for running a fully vegetarian and vegan gourmet restaurant! The meals my partner and I had at Le Tapis Rouge were pleasing to the eye and tasted delicious. It was lovely to savour classic French dishes, including a creamy and spicy bisque flavoured with seaweed, not lobster or other crustaceans. As a vegetarian, I haven’t had much of that. The vegan spinach stuffed crêpes were very tasty and satisfying. I can definitely recommend Le Tapis Rouge and I think the food will be well liked by most, if not all, visitors. I can also strongly recommend staying overnight at this beautiful hotel with stunning surroundings.

Wow. The food was amazing. We had the four course menu, vegan and gluten free, and the kitchen made the necessary modifications at the time, and everything was delicious. My husband is not vegan and he loved all of it. I wish I could have gone to the chef's vegan cooking class, that would have been a worthwhile experience. I wish more restaurants offered vegan food, and if this quality. I would go again and recommend this to everyone.

It’s a lot of work, it’s a lot of time, it’s not understandable at first to everyone but I suggest you to try it out. You will be a different person after the meal that takes at least two and a half to three hours....Be warned! You might change your mind and become vegetarian after the meal. Great view of Lake Brienz and excellent service. We chose the meat/fish options and our entrees were excellent but the appetizers and dessert were a bit more "interesting" than delicious. HOWEVER, if you are a vegetarian or vegan, you should DEFINITELY eat here. They have a great multi-course all-veg menu, which is unusual for such a fine dining restaurant.

great view of the brienzsee and excellent service. we chose the meat-fish options and our escaped were excellent, but the appetizers and desserts were a bit more interesting than delicious. However, if they are vegetarian or vegan, they should definitely eat here. they have. a great multi-course All-Veg menu that is unusual for such a fine restaurant.
