LE VAUBAN - Reservar una mesa

We have read very mixed reviews on here but can only go by our experience. We visited on a Saturday night. We reserved a table about two hours before. When we returned the place was full. Staff remembered us and showed us to a lovely table. We shared smoked salmon to start and followed with steak and Welsh simples. The steak was a pointe ( medium) but more rare as expected. My husband said it was on oft he best steaks he had eaten for a long time. The service was warm and efficient, we were made to feel very welcome and the staff put up with my terrible French accent. Despite knowing Montreuil really well we had not visited before but we will be back - this felt like it could become a friendly favourite.

Saw this place on a Monday afternoon wander around Montreuil and decided to reserve a table for the evening. Saw the mixed reviews on TA but decided to ignore them and were really glad we did. We were given an excellent table and the place was very busy - what was even better it was full of French people and not a ghastly English golfer in sight and no loud English voices either! The service was very efficient and friendly, the food and drinks were excellent and great value (the local beers terrific and the moules marinieres the best we have eaten in a long while). This was our last evening in France and we were very pleased we decided to spend it in Le Vauban

A brasserie type restaurant with a well covered outside dining area, affording a great view of the main square in the town, and surrounded by a fascinating view of multi period housing, with a bewildering array of different roofs.They have a good choice of affordable French themed dishes, which are of excellent quality, and served by friendly and helpful staff. A well appointed and run brasserie that is what you would look for in a rural French town.

A nice clean, relaxed and friendly restaurant in the centre of the town. Staff very friendly and polite. Service was not rushed and the whole place was relaxed. Nice evening meal, with wine, was reasonably priced.

A delightful cafe with protective glass surrounding the outside tables providing an ideal place to chat and drink with friends
