The friendly and knowledgeable owner is Canadian and a relative newcomer to Nyons. He is a most welcome addition! The shop's interior is comfortable and pleasant with an excellent selection and range of wines at varying prices. The owner is helpful, knows his stock and is excellent in helping select wines, if needed. There is a small selection of excellent daily specials--a salad; a cheese platter; a charcuterie platter--all generous and with fresh local ingredients. The best is the owner's latest addition--a different homemade soup each day, either to eat there or carry out. The soups I've sampled thus far have been vegetable, potato leek and potiron. If you eat in the bar/shop, the soup is around 4 euros and comes with bread, cheese and crème fraîche and of course the option of an excellent glass of wine in the 4-5 euro range. To take out, one pays for a glass bocal (jar) which can then be re-ussed for all future take-out orders. In the short time since Le Vin est Une Fête has been opened, it has understandably become a quick favorite. Excellent fresh-brewed coffee is also served. A leisurely and comfortable place with a friendly, yet unobtrusive, owner. There are tables outside that face a charming square dominated by an enormous plantain tree that lends character and beauty to the spot. Also in the little square is a British café; a funky clothing store with many clothes from Asia; tablecloth and quilt shop; a sports clothes store for men and a large store selling magnificent Provencal fabric, santons, clothing and pottery. In summer, on Market day mornings (Thursday) there is often a musical quartet or small band. An ideal and much-needed addition to an already charming spot that is opposite the church and just at the entry to Nyons' Old Town.
