We stayed 2 nights beginning of June. If you like traditional places, you should visit Waldgasthaus Lehmen. You would be surrounded by natural forest with a view on Appenzell Alps. One of the most common sound during the day is various bells on cow necks. We were lucky to see how Appenzell farmers bring their cows to the mountains. The farmers have very beautiful cloths! On Saturday we saw a group of farmers, who came in their traditional dresses to Lehmen restaurant and had a few hours of singing and enjoying food. The restaurant is very good, if you like Swiss food. You must be hiking in that region, otherwise food might be too heavy. I had pork steak, pork schnitzel and beef steak with no...
Sind am So.dort nach dem wandern eingekehrt. Aussenterasse war fast voll.Getränke kam schnell. Dafür warteten wir ca.45min aufs Essen.Meine Frau hatte eine Steinpilzcreme Suppe und ich einen Hirschgulasch.Die Suppe war sehr wässrig hatte keine Rahmhaube oder sonnst noch eine Garnitur. Das Hirschgulasch war gut,doch die Portion sehr überschaubar.
Auf unserer whiskytrektour sind wir auch hier vorbeigekommen. Das Essen war absolut klasse. Leckere Rösti. Die auch super geschmeckt haben. Dafür Bestnote. Punktabzug gibt es leider weil niemand zu uns kam und selbst als wir 2kleine Gläser zum probieren bestellt haben keine Info zum Whisky kam. Schade. Lecker war er trotzdem.
It was like being at home with family lunch treats on the menue. Local regulars kept popping in for a beer and a chat. We had a great lunch after a snow shoe hike down from Kronberg, before being picked up by especially ordered Publi Car taking us back to Appenzall. How I love public transport in Switzerland!
