This restaurant is in a renovated house on the old hiway and the large "restaurant" sign on the patio caught my eye so I pulled in even though I had my sites set on a different place. I came in for lunch just after noon while on a trip to Vegreville. The soup and sandwich special was "Egg salad and Onion soup" as well as spaghetti.I found a place to sit and the waitress was very friendly and joking with me. I ordered the soup and sandwich. It took a bit longer than I expected for a meal that was the daily special but not too long, maybe 15 minutes. When she brought my food it looked great. I was in Vegreville , performing at the Pysanka festival. Since my sister was coming from Red Deer and I don't get to see her often, We decided to grab breakfast on Sunday. Our hotel desk guy recommended the Pour House....which is only open Monday-to-Friday. Thanks to Tripdvisor we decided to try Leonel's Place. The first thing we noticed was that it smelled old and musty but the place wasn't unclean. We ordered the standard breakfast. The eggs were well cooked. The sausage was standard breakfast sausage. Based on it being "the special" (same price as in the menu) I expected more than standard breakfast links. The Potatoes were nicely crisp, and it was nice to see homemade hash browns, even...

My partner ordered the Ukranian plate which would take 20 min. This was fine knowing this info up front. She was not disappointed with her choice. Excellent food. I ordered the bacon burger which was one of the best I have ever had. It came with crinkly fries. Affordable and not to be missed in Vegreville. The attendant at the Shell station recommended it.

We head to Leonel's Place as often as we can. The food is fresh and homemade. The service is great for a small town. I have never had Sea Bass prepared anywhere that could beat Leonel's, it is so good....just melts in your mouth. The prices are fair, however the portions could be a little bigger. Great Place folks. You won't be disappointed.

Not fine dining by and standards in Edmonton at least. Food was bland and unimaginative. Overpriced as well. Pleasant service was only thing that saved this restaurant from a "1".

Breakfast just like home. Good fast service. Great place to stop when your travelling and don't want to take a long time out of your day. Prices are very reasonable.

Fish was sea bass, very light batter, tasted great. Other 3 meals only ok fettuccine Alfredo, primavera, chicken burger. Service was great, decor very dated.

We are counting calories so had a lot of extra requests that got in the way of the chef doing his thing. He was cooperative and served us what we asked for.
