We were recommended to try this restaurant as it specialises in regional cuisine. Tucked away in a side street in Villefranche Sur Saone it still has some of the traditional contents from the old Epicerie. We received a warm welcome and, although there was only one gentleman serving, we suspect he was one of the owners as he was knowledgeable, friendly and very efficient. The restaurant quickly filled and no-one had to wait for their meal. Ours was beautifully cooked and tasty. However, this restaurant won’t be for everyone as the speciality is mostly offal based. But they also serve burgers, steak hache, salads and fish. The prices are very reasonable and we enjoyed our meal very much.

Fabulous typical French food, nice friendly service with good English spoken and amazing price menu, 3 courses for EUR 18 including a glass of wine!!
We really enjoyed our meal at L’Epicerie on our way back home. After a slow start it only got better. We would definitely go back.
