Les Catounes - Reservar una mesa

This delightful restaurant is just off the main square. The restaurant is actually called No 14. Lunch time was multi national and busy which is a good sign in a small town. Evenings are by appointment only but the owners were pleased to accommodate. The restaurant has really nice art/decor and the staff are efficient and friendly. The food was 35€ for five courses all of which were excellent. It was well worth it. Some unusual twists to the dishes which we really enjoyed. We were very well fed. The wine list was limited to local wines only but they were good. Our wives were very impressed with the waiter and apparently the ladies toilet was something to behold !! If your in the area it's well worth a visit.

We were in a party of 12, we arrived at the restaurant at 7pm and our first course came after 9pm, many people who arrived after us had finished their meal before our main course arrived, We asked for some bread after being there for an hour without food and received 6 small rolls between 12, The main course was a choice of fish or lamb and most of our party chose lamb only to be told at 10pm there was no lamb left. the food is expensive and a bottle of wine starts at 25 euro (5euro in a supermarket) The waiter was extremely rude, when we complained at the long wait he told us to just relax and enjoy our holiday!! we live in France and half of the party was French .Avoid this restaurant.

We happened upon this retaurant when we got lost driving around the Dordogne, and it was a good thing too! The food was absolutely delicious and the 14 euro lunch menu was superb. I tried the foie gras and magret de canard brochette which was divine - juicy, tasty and so full of flavour. My friends had the fish and the Moroccan trio, both excellent with light filo pastry parcels, crisp salads and delicious sauces.A great find at great value. The store also sells homewares, and one of our regrets was not buying a porcelain chicken...

Ate here one night last week. Decided to eat in the courtyard as it was such a warm night. Gazpacho to start for all four of us and then we had delicous seafood dishes.Waiter was helpful and attentive and the chef stopped to chat with us after service finished for the evening.

This was our first visit to Les Catounes (No14). The service was excellent and the food delicious. We had three courses and each was delicious. We come from Australia to our place in Puy l'Eveque each year and will certainly be back here again next year.
