This alpage , or mountain restaurant, features the standard melts cheese specialties you would expect for such an establishment in Switzerland, but surprisingly also highlights products derived from a herd of highland cows. Steaks, air-dried beef, tartares, and even more unusual meat fondues all take advantage of this local resource that, at 1323 meters above sea level, lives up to its name! Want to splurge? Take home a professionally tanned hide for the very Swiss price of only 850 francs! The local beer is a better bargain, with the white being the most delicious. It can be a bit tricky to find this place--look for the highland cow silhouettes on the road your GPS will take you on!
