We called in to reserve a table before taking a walk to sharpen the appetite. The lady owner even moved a table so that our dog would have some shade. Staff were very friendly and we were not rushed. Every part of each course was delicious, well presented and showed that care had been taken.The monkfish was perfectly cooked and my skate wing with capers was delicious. As this was my wife's birthday we opted for dessert which is usually a bit of a disappointment in French restaurants as they trot out the usual ready made fare. This was my wife and I's 4th annual visit for a Sunday lunch and yet again we were not dissappointed. Being April, we just reserved a table on the day, when passing by about an hour before. As crazy English, we always ask for an outside table, whatever the weather (a couple of times we've been saved by the large awning which protects most of the outside tables. The food is oustanding, with an understandable bias to fish and seafood, for obvious reasons given the location. It's reasonably priced and the service is always very friendly and helpful. This is a wonderful restaurant, in a beautiful location on a fabulous island in this great part of France. Very highly recommended.
At lunch time in summer restaurant Les Embruns can get very busy. So we were lucky to find a table for two, albeit sadly not on the lovely terrace. We were expecting quite a long wait, since the restaurant was so full of people, but to our surprise we got our food quickly. I ordered the sea food platter, which was very good. Also very good: the glass of champagne I ordered with my meal. Looks like the waitress noticed how much I was enjoying my 'coupe ', because when my glass was empty she swiftly appeared at our table with the bottle asking: Another glass, misses? Who can say no to that. ; Good service, nice ambiance and good food. What 's not to like?
Apparently you have to walk 10 minutes to this restaurant from the port. What a tragedy for you poor people. Your food is cooked to order, it’s fresh, it’s wonderful. If you want fast food go to **** McDonalds there’s one in Vannes. If you can’t deal with a torteau or balk at oysters or can’t peel a langoustine then just go somewhere else. There’s a couple of pizza places on the island. Husband and wife team work really, really hard and all of the islanders really appreciate what they do. They are open all year round.
After booking a table for 8 people we arrived with only 7 because somebody couldn't make it. We were told off by the lady owner that it was very inconvenient for her table set up (7 instead of 8 !!?? . Hadn't we be so many I would have walked away. The food was nice except the fact that IF one wanted french fries as an extra it was a no no. The meal wasn't rushed on us ,if anything a bit slow. Disappointed overall mostly by the welcome attitude. Will not go again
