Les Gros Manaux

Following all the comments on trip advisor, we were expecting very good restaurant. Well, at the end nothing terrific. We ate the local dish "Truffade" with Ham, sausages... So Truffade good but very fattry, all the "charcuterie" were from the supermarket, for sure nothing local (which is very sad in that beautiful region recognised for the food from Porc !). One of us took a fish, supposively without Bones, well some bones ... and without being cautious could have led to bad surprises. Nothing special about the wine, and the desert were not good. At the end, one has to say ALSO that it was pretty cheap, which might explain the food quality level. Fair enough, but we were really expecting better by looking at the comments.

Located at the bottom of the restaurant the view from the terrace is nice. Service and food are inconsistent and very slow. The chicken nuggets are probably one if the best ever tried. Duck salad and magret are excellent. Fishes don't need to be tried as well a the greasy vegetable salad. Dessert are very good.

After hiking the Dome we stopped here at 9:45pm, thought they were closed, but graciously offered us a table. We finished dinner at midnight, 2 hours after closing. We sat outside on a great summer night and was very well treated. The food and wine was very good, I recommend.

Restaurant serve no thrill hearty food in portions fit for a woodcutter. Good quality mom and pop food to fair prices. Restaurant is rustic but cosy. Perfect ending after a day of hiking

Excellent traditional local sourced food. Home made desserts. Very friendly service. Note the place is opened only from Wednesday to Sunday
