A cross between a service station cafe and a restaurant. The entrance is a little off putting. Tucked around the side of the building, looking more like a factory entrance. We went to the restaurant side which was fairly busy. The restaurant itself is brightly...lit, smart and modern. Service was quick. possibly a bit too quick, as the waitress left us little time to study the menu. Things were removed from the table at speed including the water bottle which she asked if she could empty in one of our glasses so she could take it! this is a great routine that grew out of a more modest facility. it is success is well earned because it is very good what it does, and good priced. there is a bar that is almost completely used by truck drivers: but if they are happy... no one will contradict their inestimacy. if your French is good, it is an opportunity to learn about the routine and prints that the many long truck drivers experience in France. adjacent to the bar is what in the did an old-fashioned relay routine, with menus, dishes of the day and guided. in the next, much larger room, is a restaurant with a large menu and a wide clientele. people drive from surrounding cities and villages to eat here. highly recommended.
Arriving in Deols at 10pm we thought there wouldn't be anywhere still open for dinner and had resigned ourselves to a cheese roll in our room at Ibis. We were wrong . This delightful restaurant serves 24/7 high quality French cuisine. The majority of the building is a Les Routiers truck stop but tucked away on the side is a great restaurant. Good value and tasty. Complimentary sample of rilette on the table, 3 course dinner for €18.20 per person. Only critism is my moules were a bit cold and we had a fairly grumpy waitress. The other staff were very friendly. Would definitely come again.
Reviewed this extraordinary place a couple of years ago but never forgot it. Thought I'd call back 2 days before Xmas to see if the legend was still the same. Sure enough there was a continuous stream of locals trying to get a table. They...squeezed us in. Service just right, really helpful and friendly, happy to discuss and recommend items on the menu in half French, half English. Food was delicious and good portions without being too fancy. This place is unique and we'll be back. Highly recommended.

L'Escale is a local institution and you must stop and have a meal at least once if you are close by.Its huge, there are several dining areas, I used the Brasserie since the food is the same in the restaurant but more expensive.What you get here is quick and friendly service and ok food.I have a feeling the portions are getting smaller though. This is certainly a good thing since it used to be a gargantuan fill up!I recommend the nougat glace which I love!
My father used to say: when not sure which restaurant to choose, check the parking lot. The more trucks, the better the food! This is definitely true for l'Èscale Village. I have probably stopped by 10 times over the past two years, and the food...was always excellent. Although the place is usually packed, staff was always pleasant and helpful. Even if all tables are taken, it is well worth the wait!
Effectively a glorified service station that does fish very well. Generally excellent fish, although the atmosphere is not super if you're outside the lunch time rush. However, there are issues, like the mussels seem to be cooked in one giant lot - they are superb if you arrive spot on midday, but turn up at 1.30 and they're overcooked and shrivelled. Still far better than a Little Chef.
like all Les Routiers, its a truckers stop but don't be put off. The more trucks the better the food and these people have loads of trucks! There are two restaurants here one 'posher' than the other but both excellent.Best restaurant we have found at Deols and we stop a lot.

Nice restaurant, located at the Deols´truck center (Centre Routier), with a nice ambience. Service fast, with simpathy and good food. Dishes presentation in good quantity and quality.
