Nous avions entendu parler (en bien) de ce restaurant et y sommes allés le 14 août 2015. L'ambiance :Très calme. Peu de clients pour un vendredi soir ... Il faut dire que l'établissement ne fonctionne que sur réservation, à tel point que des vacanciers, entrant pour dîner sans avoir réservé, se sont vus (gentiment) refouler alors qu’il n’y avait que 5 clients en salle.C'est assez curieux et démontre deux choses : la restauratrice ne se fournit qu'en fonction du nombre de réservations (c'est un bon point) - sa motivation première n'est pas le business (ce qui est louable mais quand même ...).D'ailleurs, quand elle est venue nous saluer en fin de repas, nous avons vite compris que nous avions...
We came this restaurant with five other friends, two of whom had eaten here recently and highly recommended the establishment. We were not disappointed. It is run by an elderly "Edith Piaf" style woman who is very "with it" and cooks all the food which is sourced from her garden and/or locally. When the booking was made we had to say which menu we were going for. Three of us had the 18 euro 'Menu du Jour' and the other three had he 35 euro menu. Both were excellent. The only reason I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars was because the food didn't arrive hot and I also like my plates to be warm but this certainly didn't deter from eating every morsel on my plate. The soup starter was absolute...
We were staying in Chapeau which is a short walk away from this restaurant. We booked for 7 of us on our second to last night and we were so pleased that we did. The food was amazing (local french cuisine) and the hosts were truly delightful. Although we weren't at all fluent in French, nor the host fluent in English, we managed to have a good giggle and thoroughly enjoyed the evening. At the end of the meal, I went to pay with my bank card but they only accepted cash (makes sense as its only a small family restaurant). I asked where the nearest ATM was but it was in Hautfort, some distance away. The owner waved her hand and said it would be no problem to pay tomorrow it was 227 Euros!! How...
A friend booked 7 of us in for my wife's birthday. The welcome was wonderful, the service superb and the food was out of this world. I can't remember when I last had a meal where it was impossible to fault anything I suppose if you are extra picky, they gave us Burgundy glasses for the red Bordeaux, but then, it was a special wine). I realise it is off the beaten track but would strongly recommend anyone, even an hour or so's drive away to visit it and experience a `gastronomic orgasom'. We started with truffle soup, the `real' pate de fois gras, followed by tournedos aux cepes, cheese then a birthday cake which the mervellous Chantal produced as a surprise. Découvrez des arrangements dignes de restaurants étoilés, notamment des plats fleuris, pour un budget extrêmement raisonnable.Produits du jardin( nous avons assisté à la livraison des petits producteurs locaux, cueillette de moins d'une heure...).Pour nous, ce fut par exemple soupe courgette menthe, confit de canard avec légumes du jardin.Allez-y les yeux fermés, vous ne serez pas déçus (réservation obligatoire la veille, la cuisinière n'ouvre que si elle a des réservations....contraignant, mais gage de fraîcheur des produits).
Ce restaurant ne paye pas de mine et pourtant il en vaut vraiment le détour !Il faut réserver 24h à l avance car les plats sont concoctés avec les légumes du jardin (ce qui garantit la fraîcheur de ces derniers)Les plats sont exquis et en plus, agréables à regarder ! Un vrai bonheur !En commandant une soupe et une salade en entrée, nous ne nous attendions pas à autant de saveurs !Il en etait de même pour les plats et les desserts.Et en +, les prix sont + que corrects.Bref, nous recommandons fortement cet endroit
Vous trouverez ici un accueil irréprochable d'une cuisinière passionnée qui vous amènera des plats copieux tous fait maison et plein de saveurs!Le tout pour un prix extrêmement accessible!A recommander à toutes les personnes aux alentours ainsi qu'aux gens en visite dans ce très joli petit coin du Périgord!Pensez à réserver
Une cuisine goûteuse, des produits du jardin, des fleurs à croquer une cuisinière incroyable de douceur et de talent,un chien vénérable sous la treille c'est un peu magique tout ça. Mais surtout réservez !Merci pour les enfants ils nous parlent encore des meringues Reserva una mesa ahora
