Invited here by a supplier one evening, I was told that this was a new pace in town, which should be excellent. Placed in the outskirts of Altstadt, close to the steep hills and old fortifications of freiburg, it is easy to reach albeit...not by car. The restaurant is fairly small, but is very cosy and becoming. Service was attentive in a slightly off handed way, but we never the less felt welcome. Fo r starter I har an excellent fish soup, which was both wholesome and slightly spicy. For the main course I had chosen a pink roasted piece of veal with a smooth risotto with horseradish and small cubes of slightly pickles and boiled beetroot. With...it being pfifferlinge (chanterelle) season, one of us had pfifferlinge soup followed by grilled scallops, while the other had pfifferlinge soup followed by a tasty dish of veal, rosti and guess what. Two half litre carafes of local wine (one white, one red) plus a delicious pud came to an excellent value €80. Something of a bargain and something not to missed when in Freiburg.

It is very difficult to find available space at the Freiburg restaurants, you have to book mostly weeks in advance. A friendly restaurant owner who could not accommodate us pointed us towards Lichtbild. The setting is simple and straightforward, but the service is impeccable and...the food is superb. This restaurant stands out and merits a star or any other top ranking for its dishes. The chef and the staff are truly highclass professionals and deserve the success they are enjoying. The place was full but still the kitchen turned out like clockwork and with the highest possible quality!

Smack in the middle of old town, this place is a gem. After three days of sausages and pork knuckle we fancied something different and lighter and this place was perfect. We adored both my salmon special with basil risotto and my partner's veal with...horseradish risotto. The starter of carpaccio of beef and mixed salad were equally delicious. With two glasses of bubbles and two 250ml carafes of wine, and water, it came to just over EUR 100. Well worth it. Finally, our waitress with a very British accent was lovely and very helpful with wine and food choices.
Oh so yummy highly recommend! Online it said they were totally booked but we took a chance and after 15 minutes we had a table . The carpaccio was divine marbled meat and the Parmesan was top notch . Main courses risotto... oh so good perfectly al dente . He had lamb always a risk bit not here. The service was impeccable as well . Next time we come to Freiburg we will be back !
We made a reservation online and when we arrived a guy from the staff just told us that there is no reservation and was not friendly. However, good and tasty food! Another staff member very helpfull and made suggestions.
Over a day trip to Freiburg we found this restaurant: a pleasant surprise. Regional food with an international touch. Very good

Chanterelles with noodles were delicious! Also go for the dessert variation! Can highly recommend this place!
