We visited the restaurant, mainly because of the location (with views of the old town) and because we like italien food, although we knew the restaurant was as far away from the country Italia as we were. Nevertheless, the italian restaurant Bello further up the street make great food. I don 't remember the food at Giovanni at all, all I remember is a rude, stressful waiter, who was all over the place. When we afsked about desserts, he rapidly mentionted some and pointed at a glass-fridge . I asked if they had a card with desserts and prices and I got un unpleasent no. Then we left.
1 My wife and myself l booked a table yesterday we were so pleased to get in but today’s experience has been one of the worse of my life dining out the meals came at different times my pizza and I say pizza lightly more soggy dough alas but my wife did enjoy her vegetable risotto but beware they put calamari on your table even if you don’t order then charge you €14:50 for the privilege of not ordering when I left and said we didn’t order calamari he said you ate it which was true to an extent my wife had 1 and said they would hold more stockings up in 1944
Excellent linguine with seafood! I don’t usually like to go to restaurants on the main street in a resort town because many times the food isn’t that good. This place was an exception. The seafood linguine was outstanding. Had a generous amount of seafood (which is rare and the sauce tasted fabulous. (You know it’s good when you soak the sauce up with your bread. . The chocolate lava cake was awesome as well. Just the right amount of sweetness!
We arrived Saturday night in August without a reservation but only had to wait a few minutes as someone else never turned up for their reservation! First point : book ahead! The service was slick and the restaurant was very busy with a good atmosphere. The menu choices were good and the pizza was amazing. Great choices and sourdough crust! Defiantly for a must visit when in Tossa de Mar !
