I’ve tried many Peruvian chicken spots and this one is mediocre compared to the rest. There are many other spots, especially around the Gaithersburg or Columbia area, with much more flavorful chicken and better sides. The chicken itself was a bit bland although the outer skin was seasoned. I felt that the sauces too were a bit more on the mild side and lacked oomph, especially the green sauce. Very little spice. I also saw that some of the chicken was a bit raw on the ends, which I know is common for rotisserie but is still unappetizing. The yucca fries were overcooked and very dry. I'll go out of my way to eat at Lima's. I had no idea how much I like Peruvian BBQ until I found this sleepy little joint. Any of their signatures are fantastic and, even though it's cafeteria style service, the flavors hit you right in the face! The food is fantastic and there's a handful of items that you'd have a hard time finding anywhere outside of a big city or South America. If you get the opportunity make sure you stop in and grab a half a chicken, and some tostones. You will not be disappointed!
Food is cool, but the staff is very rude! Word of advice to staff: some people understand spanish even if they dont look like it : . The staff talks about people in spanish as their ordering and walking away. Theyve always been like this even though ive been a customer for many years. Probably wont be coming back. This place charged me $24 for this little bowl all due to me requesting sliced chicken instead of chopped. In addition when you walk pass the cooler where the drinks and desserts are there’s a foul smell. And to sum it all up food wasn’t great.
