Coming to Little Vietnamese Bistro is like a drive down to one of the best Vietnamese spots in San Jose.The pho is delicious. You can taste the beef broth with no msg flavor. Came here after work with a colleague’s recommendation. Ordered the Pho #20) soup was bland and noodles were overcooked, just overall what I’m not used to coming from NYC and eating at authentic Vietnamese. Had the French style squab which to me was fried squab tossed in sauce, in other words not that different from Chinese style minus sauce. Should have known it was not authentic Vietnamese when I saw the Chinese characters on the menu. Waitress was friendly, just to the food was meh.

The service was disappointing. The spring rolls tasted obviously premade; when I requested them without vegetables, I was told by the chef that it wasn’t possible. Really? To add to that, the meat inside was cold. The noodles were decent, but the poor service overshadowed any positive aspects of the meal. I had to ask for a receipt three times. The only advantage this restaurant has is its convenient location next to the swim school, otherwise, I doubt I would return.

We came here for a last minute dinner on Friday night. It was busy but we got a table easily.It looks like a local's spot, which is cool.Parking was fairly easy in this stretch of San Bruno.The service was friendly. I thought the food was ok and reasonably priced.
