It's back! This was my first visit since the reopening, and I absolutely loved it. The influence from DC has really enhanced the place while preserving its original charm. The beer selection is quite impressive, and the atmosphere is delightful—now with music at just the right volume. It's a fantastic revival for the Mill Road scene!
Super well maintained beer. Cask ales. Friendly staff, in a traditional English pub. Different quantity. Good, but not excessively loud music. Perfect place for a snowy pint from the main road. Tye building itself is quite old. And once a brewery.
Not been here for some time and it had been closed for years but found out it reopened in March 2022! Excellent traditional ale pub, very friendly and it looks closed most of the time so make sure you push the door!

I had a wonderful Oakham Brown Ale tonight, and I have to say it's even better than Newcastle Brown Ale. The service was excellent as well!

"visited la maison du steak with adult and children eating was good service was ok best spent on eating plus a manditory service fee of whitch I did not ask to pay, but was said I did not have any choice because the manager was not on this day it unpopular mine, but it is not our culture in Britain to pay service fees so that it lets down the cleaning"
