I'm surprised about some of the negative reviews about this location. The burgers + fish tacos are always fresh and tasty. I've never had a bad meal here and enjoy the fun vibe of any of their locations in the city. The one downtown is my favorite. Our servers are always welcoming, friendly and efficient. We never have to wait long for service even when they're really busy. Their outdoor patio is always a good place to hangout during the summer. They have a decent selection of craft beer at good prices. Give them a try. Cheers!
The enviroment is open and sociable, staff is friendly yet helpful. The drinks are your average fare, although I did not try any local brews. However the Ginger Sesame Chicken Salad is a delight, with properly ripened avacado, crisp greens, and excellently seasoned chicken. The fries are good, great cut and we'll salted, however they needed to be cooked longer as ours did not have the crispness of a perfect fry. All in all a good middle of the road bar/eatery to try out one afternoon or evening on Jasper.
My girlfriend and I stopped in for dinner on our way out of Edmonton. I had the burger (cold), she ordered a salad with chicken - the chicken was pink. Not a little pink, more like we killed this chicken out back and forgot to cook it pink. Waitress took it back with a little "sorry", and I ate alone while we waited another 20 minutes for her salad and new chicken. No discount, still made us pay full price. Epic fail Local, epic fail.
Visited the establishment for a light lunch. Very busy but the staff up to the challenge. Food was very enjoyable and well presented. Our waitress Sam G was a delight and a great ambassador for the Local. Although busy she ensured we were well looked after and made us feel very welcome. Her approach alone encourages us to return. The Local is wee worth a visit.

Granddaughter, Son-in-Law Wife and myself were looking for a lunch spot on Edmonton's south side.We eneded up on the patio of the Local Public Eatery. This was our first visit here and we were not disappointed. Service was good, choice of beers was good and they were cold and food was delicious. We had the Quesadilla and a taco and both were very tasty.
This place is awesome for a after work beer to watch the game. A great atmosphere to meet friends on a Friday & Saturday night. Or a great place for work lunches or with friends. The food is delicious! The crispy chicken sandwich and the chicken tacos are my favourite. My husband loves the Huevos Rancheros.
Local is a great restaurant for brunch or lunch. Excellent selection of craft beers to choose from. Had the burger - it was excellent. I have had the tacos in the past and I highly recommend them. My husband gives the fish and chips 2 thumbs up.
Ordered fish taco. Pleasantly surprised. Crunchy fish topped with cilantro, cabbage, tomato, onion. Taco was soft, contrasts in textures, finished two tacos. Dined outdoors. Service is ok.

Burgers looked great. Salad and ginger chicken were good. The waitress made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful in making our choices.
