L'Odyssee, Cafeteria E Leclerc Challans

Stopped for lunch before shopping and wished we hadn't. The place was packed so we thought a good sign. However the pork roll was like eating a lump of faeces so was spat out. I had a bread roll to get rid of the taste but it had a fly baked into the base. The cashier rushed us through paying and my wife piped up he was rude and asked for the manager. When we went back to complain about the food it turned out he was the manager and he quickly snatched it out of her hand and threw it in the bin! The helpful waitress told us we should have checked out trip advisor and she was glad to be leaving soon. Please read this review and don't eat here. We got 5 euro refund on a 25 euro bill and the manager, Mr Lucas told us we were not in England now but in France! First time we experienced this in France so not true at all. Lovely experience!

This is part of the Leclerc complex in Challans providing a wide selection of hot and cold dishes including starters, mains and desserts. It is self service with the advantage that your hot main dish is cooked to order in the case of steaks or burgers and if you want a starter you are given a ticket for your hot main which you collect when you are ready. Caraffes of water are available and if you need several trays there are trolleys to help transport them.The restaurant is large and airy with plenty of seating,This is fast food plus and we have eaten there many times when we want a quick meal or snack. It does get very busy around one o'clock..

Supermarkets rarely have eating establishments of note. The Challans LeClerc has L'Odyssee restaurant which is a cut above the usual. A wide selection of food, well prepared, tasty and giving good value. We found it a useful stop off on our travels through France. We found the staff very helpful. This is a self service restaurant. It is extremely busy and a popular venue for families, so there is a sense of being slightly chaotic, but that aside we enjoyed our visit and would use it again.

This place is definitely a true local find! Yummy lunch items and desserts/pastriesQuiche, pizza, burgers on some days, and other items.

A nice little cafe in Oak Bay We enjoyed having coffee and treats here if we managed to find a table.
