New to Pyrmont, this restaurant offers up traditional Thai dishes alongside the modern Thai fusion dishes that owner/chef Suween Jaisuetrong likes to cook at home. Long Kin is a Thai restaurant in Pymont run by husband and wife team, with Sutee running front of house and his wife Suweena running the kitchen.The restaurant has a clean modern fit out scattered with some quirkyness. There are monkey figurines displyed on shelves with monkeys and bananas decorating the walls, along with some fun facts about bananas. Long Kin is by far one of the best Thai restaurants we have ever eaten at.Having travelled from Melbourne and looking to soothe our Thai cravings, nice and close to our accomodation, we opted to give Long Kin a go.As we walked into their new modern restaurant, we were greeted by their wonderful staff and seated in their dining.One of our friends is gluten free. There were many GF options, but they were also more than accomodating with amending meals to suit her dietary needs.The meals were devine! Fresh, full of flavour and plentiful!We were very satisfied with our meals and are looking forward to eating here again before we leave.Highly recommend!
Immediately enjoyed the decor - simple and 'amusing'. The menu comprised some dishes I've never seen - a pleasant surprise from the all-too-familiar modern Thai food in Sydney. And we weren't disappointed! We enjoyed the combination of flavours and textures - especially the raw scallops with chilli (entree). The Gang Dang curry was delicious too.The food was served promptly and beautifully presented. We just ordered through Uber and it was the best "takeaway" we have ever had! Their menu is unique and curious...... We ordered The BEST soft shell crab, dinning in or out we have ever had. The Banana Blossom cake is worth trying. We are very happy with the quality,freshness and presentation of the food. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Thank you Trip Advisor for leading us to this restaurant gem. We had a very quiet table and the owner/chef was charismatic and very accommodating of my spicy vegan demands ("I'll cook anything for you"!) while my carnivorous friends raved about the best green curry ever!
Had a brilliant meal for two here. The menu includes some quirky choices as well as the traditional options. We were very impressed with all the food we ordered, and we received service with a smile! Great value too! Travel a little off Harris street for a real treat.
