First time impression: Perfect! Cheap, delicious, friendly and hardworking staff. Lonnie's has an authentic Chicago Diner feel. Sit at the lunch counter like you're in the Windy City and watch Lonnie killin' it on the grill. This place made me so happy. Steamed bun, grilled onions, hot peppers, and mustard on a Polish sausage is so proper and perfect that there is no reason to change it. Oh, and the music....deep cut soul and r&b add to the atmosphere and authenticity. Awesome quick spot for a satisfying lunch. You'll be seeing a lot more of me.
TRUE TO THE TASTE! Lonnie's place is THE best place in Louisville to get AUTHENTIC italian beef and hot dogs. The smell alone makes you crave the food. The food is never a disappointment. Only drawback is a small venue and can get over crowded fast but the food...omg the food makes up for that alone. My family spends a good amount of money when we go here cause we can't just have one or two.
We were married 2yrs ago today in Chicago, so we decided to give this place a try for our anniversary dinner. Delicious food (Italian beef sandwich was awesome), friendly staff and the photos on the wall made us feel like we were in Chicago. Couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate our anniversary! Wish we'd visited this place sooner, we will definitely be back!
Ohhhh I’ve been wanted to come back here for the longest just hard living hour away!!! But doctors appointment guess what’s to eat!!! Can not give enough stars for this place the Italian beef with peppers of course is beyond compare. Don’t expect your food to be rushed and trust me that’s a good thing!! Love goes into this food and your taste buds know it

Very good food with very good service. This place is a Louisville hidden gem. Go on over and check out their menu. Pure Beef dogs and Kosher polish sausage were a big hit for me.
If you can 't make it up to Chicago, then this is the place to go! I absolutely love their food and the atmosphere. Lonnie has definitely brought Chicago to the 'south '!
