I really hate to do this because I like supporting black owned businesses, however, my food was utterly unacceptable. I had a feeling that once I placed my order, was told that I would get a call when it?s done, then get a call back 11 minutes later thatI was going to be disappointed. I ordered a chicken wing platter with macaroni and cheese and string beans. The food wasbasically reheated in the microwave and tasted really old (like it was left overs from yesterday). If you?re a soul foodrestaurant, why isn?t your food made to order? Why didn?t I deserve freshly fried chicken and macaroni and cheese that wasn?tdried out? It?s a recession and people are struggling, so when we have the privil...

The chicken wings were very dry and tough, almost inedible. Honestly, frozen wings and mac and cheese from Walmart would have been cheaper and tasted better. Save your time and money—this isn’t the place for soul food. The cornbread was dry and hard, and the collard greens were the worst I've ever had. The potato salad left a strange aftertaste, and the mac and cheese was dry, with just unmelted cheese on top and barely any seasoning. The chicken tenders and whiting were also dry and tough. The meatloaf was worse than cafeteria food, comparable to a frozen banquet meal. I don’t understand how this place has a 4.6-star rating. This has been the worst restaurant meal I’ve ever had. Plus, seein...

I enjoyed the food at Lorraine’s A Taste Of The South, especially the sweet potato pie, pork chops, potato salad, and ribs. The staff were friendly, which added to the experience. I appreciate supporting this black-owned business in my neighborhood. That said, I would rate it higher if the chicken didn’t sometimes taste reheated and if the whiting were consistently fresh. The side portions are somewhat small, and the prices lean toward the expensive side. They also tend to close unexpectedly during their posted hours, which has prompted me to try another soul food spot a bit farther away with more reliable hours and better prices. Overall, the food and service are solid, but there are incons...

As I sit here in my truck while parked in the parking lot trying to finish the last few bites of this fried whiting, I am satisfied. The food hit the spot. It was pretty good. Although I can?t give them a 10/10, I?ll have to give the overallexperience an 8.9/10. Okay, maybe a 9.1. Somewhere around there. Update the address to reflect the correct location on Googleand Maps, and they?ll be at 9.5 on their way to a 10/10. In short, if you want to interact with inviting employees, good food,a vibe of an atmosphere, this is all speaking from the 20 25 minutes I spent from first walking through the door of theestablishment to eating my platter in my truck, I would say this is an ideal spot for som... The food was amazing! The servings were plenty, and I especially loved the collard greens, shrimp, mac and cheese, and fried fish. The white cake with cream cheese frosting was a highlight—it literally melts in your mouth! The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was the chicken wings; they were a bit too salty for me, though others might like them. Overall, my family and I will definitely be ordering from Lorraine’s A Taste Of The South again soon. I can’t wait to try more dishes!

I really enjoyed the dinner I had from Lorraine's. I had the fish platter with greens and yams. My partner had the fried chicken with the mac and yams. Everything was great and tasted fresh. My partner is a picky eater and said his food was absolutelydelicious ???? The Google location isn't correct on Baltimore Ave. It is now located at 24 N Lansdowne Ave. Which is in closeproximity. I can't wait to go again. I have found a new soul food spot!

This place is extremely disappointing. I ordered online at 530 ish and PAID. My wife went to pick up at 630pm (closes at 7pm per google and their website). She was met with a man locking the front door. She asked if they were closed. He said yes and theywere closed for the day and I should have gotten a rejection. I have received no rejection, no refund and now food. We werehoping since the moved it would be better, but I guess not.

This is a fantastic spot for delicious, home-cooked meals. The atmosphere is very inviting! They’re open from Wednesday to Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Treat yourself to a wonderful meal and enjoy the company of some great people!
