The value you get here can't be matched. How often do you go out now-a-days and spend $20 dollars just on one persons meal? You can comfortably feed 2-3people at Los Pollos del Pueblo with the same amount of money.Their chicken is very tasty. It reminds of how I felt about it El Pollo Loco ages ago. My family usually gets the 8 piece special with rice and macaroni or potato salad. We usually split our chicken between spicy and not. Truthfully the spice isn't too bad--just a lil heat.I like that they include tortillas. Tacos are my preferred way to eat this chicken. Their salsas and pico are good as well.
The roasted chicken here is absolutely delicious and juicy, with both spicy and regular options available. I always opt for the spicy version. The portions are generous and the service is quick. Occasionally, they do run out, but it's definitely worth the wait. I'm also a big fan of their potato salad, which is chunkier and less mayonnaise-heavy than what you typically find in stores. Plus, the beans are cooked traditionally (not fried), which I appreciate. This is definitely my favorite spot for chicken in the SGV/Covina area.
Don't waste your time at the other chicken spots (EPL, Juan Pollo, Mr Pollo). This place is by far the best--crispy skin, well marinated chicken, cooked to perfection. The side are decent, tasty. 8 piece combo with 2 sides and tortillas for $20, great deal. Warning* get the regular chccken, not spicy, if you're not into heat. The spicy is really spicy. You'll still get some on the side to enjoy!

I ordered the spicy chicken, and it was incredibly juicy and full of flavor! The salsa added a great kick to the dish, too. The owner was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. I completely agree with others who say they won't be visiting Juan Pollo or El Pollo Loco after trying this place. I’ll definitely be coming back!
