FOOD TYPE Mex FOOD QUALITY Small portions but superior quality fare. Everything we ordered was fresh, tasty and prepared with skill, love and attention to detail. Three of us dined on a Sunday night on the Anzac Day long weekend. We started with the guacamole with totopos ($12), which is a small round plate of crispy Mex-style triangular chips, with a bowl of guacamole dip in the middle. The dip was flavourful and sprinkled with sweet pomegranate pips. That got polished off in double quick time. From there we moved onto the chicken quesadilla ($16) with onion, more guacamole and chillies. There were four of these pancake-like treats (actually tortillas) to the serve, each one filled with su...

Stepping through the front doors, I was not expecting to see such a lively, dark and bar-like kind of atmosphere. The decor is fantastic with an eye catching feature wall, adding to the allure of the place. With a booking, we were seated promptly, but were then left without any waitstaff nor attention for longer than we would have liked. A guy eventually comes over and apologises for the long wait and offers us a complimentary starter of guacamole and totopos. Very unexpected, but a nice gesture to keep customers happy. Not knowing how the rest of the night was going to be like, we decided to just order our drinks and food all at once. With about 10 different types of taco fillings to...

loved los Vida first time I went great food, great atmosphere and some rude staff but brushed it off as a one off. recommended all my friends so when we all went to dinner i was really excited. got there and the bouncer (why is there a bouncer for a restaurant????) was so rude saying we need to book and be over 18 etc (why would you need to be over 18 to go to a restaurant?) anyway we said we had a booking and showed our ID's and she quickly changed her tune. went inside and the blonde boy who always works there was once again so rude, seriously why is he so rude. food was good but couldn't get past how rude the staff were and how we were treated. went a third time because loved the food and...
I went today with my partner and paid 50 dollars for all you can eat tacos in crows nest. This was the 3rd time I go there and the last one, my first 2 experiences were not the best, to be honest I eat better food at Guzman & Gomez. The manager was very rude not only with my table but with the table next to us. Serving food like that should be illegal, Mexico should build a wall to void the owners coming back to Mexico and copy pasting a cheat version of their food. Seriously horrible food and even worst service and to the manager, if hospitality and guest service is not your passion get a new job, because telling to a customer "I didn't took your order is not my problem" well... is clea...
Los Vida is a great addition to the Crows Nest dining scene. The non-descript doors hide a tardis-like venue complete with mezzanine and upper level dining. The Mexican food is fun and delicious. The set menu is very generous in portions, so you walk out feeling like you have dined like a king! The staff are lovely and helpful. Special mention on the Margaritas and Tequila too! Lots of fun for a group of friends. foodiemookie.com
Had an amazing dinner at Los Vida in Crows Nest. The cocktails were sensational and the food was divine. The tuna ceviche was particularly delicious. Service was the perfect balance of fun and professional. We were looked after very well by Pat and Paco - huge thanks to them both! Can't wait to go back. Reserva una mesa ahora
We dropped in at lunch time over the Easter weekend so it was quiet. The decor was cool with some classic hip hop jams. Make sure you try the fantastic fish tacos, they are fantastic.
