This was my first and last time visiting this restaurant. I 've lived in the south for well over 16 years, I 'm west Indian and I 've also enjoyed authentic Louisiana cooking. I can throw down in the kitchen and I 've enjoyed great southern food as well. Let 's just say this however was not that. Talk about a disappointment. With a name like Louisiana Creole Gumbo me and my stomach were expecting delicious authentic food.I entered the restaurant and was about to order from the self service kiosk but after a few minutes I was greeted and a lady at the counter took my order. The customer service was fine I 'd say, as the menu options were explained and the food came fast. However the lack of f...

Detroit has been my home for over 50 years, but I had never eaten at Louisiana Gumbo. So, naturally I was excited when I paid my first visit to their Gratiot location on Tuesday 4/19/23.I decided to order the shrimp gumbo. What I received was NOT gumbo. It was more like celery onion soup, with overcooked shrimp.Even before I tasted it I could tell it was not going to be good, because it didn't even look like gumbo. And the flavor?...I don't know, it just wasn't hitting.Perhaps I went on a bad day I don't know, but I don't think I'll be going back. In fact, I know I won't. Too many great places to eat in The D.But please, try Louisiana Gumbo for yourself. Maybe your experience will be better...
Been in this city 23 years and never ate at this place. Decided to do DoorDash yesterday to order. I decided on the catfish poboy with a side of red beans and rice. The fish was so undercooked and unseasonably I had to heat up some grease and fry it more. They had wilted lettuce and tomato on what looked like a large hot dog bun. The red beans had a sweet taste which was not good. I did report this to door dash with pictures which I forgot to save. They gave me a $5 refund. I tried calling the store, no answer. I probably won't be back. FRIED FISH SHOULD NOT BE SOFT IN THE MIDDLE!! THAT'S BAKED FISH!!
Everything from here is always fire. Never any complaints. If I could afford it, I would probably eat here every day. ?? that darn shrimp gumbo keeps me in a chokehold! The red beans and rice has the perfect amount of spice and savory, which makes the perfect side dish for ANY meal. And the ladies, who work here are always so sweet and quick to get you out the door. I think they are getting ready to move soon. So I just hope they are taking all of this good stuff with them in their new location. Reserva una mesa ahora
The woman at the front could take a lesson or two in customer service. She was impatient, projected annoyance and unhelpful. I was in the wrong place as I'd only gotten the name of the restaurant and it turns out they had several locations. Her delivery could have been better and I'm happy that the food was not from here. Sorry but based off of service alone, this is not somewhere I'd spend
The macaroni is stove top poorly seasoned. The seafood gumbo is spicy and salty as is the red beans rice w/meat. The baked chickens presentation was poor. It looked raw. I’m disappointed. The cook must either be new or just doesn’t care anymore which is typical of businesses that gain popularity. I won’t be back.
Seafood creole stew was under seasoned and served over cold rice and shrimp that had just been thawed out and tossed on a plate. Some of the oysters were going bad. Lady who took my order was nice, but this was the worst food experience I’ve had in awhile.
Enjoyed the gumbo I received, should have got the Supreme but settled for the seafood gumbo and had to get it home and add just a little more seasoning. Ingredients melted in your mouth wish it had more flavor. Cornbread muffins were flavorless.Food: 3/5 Reserva una mesa ahora
The food is hot, fresh and flavorful. A really nice menu and great staff. We grabbed takeout and waited maybe 5 minutes even though the place was packed.Food: 5/5
