Ordered the single chicken plate with arugula and original hot sauce, and I added a side of beans a la carte because I really wanted to try them. Everything was delicious! The hot sauce is actually hot, the arugula was all nice and fresh, the chicken thigh was tender and flavorful, and the beans were creamy and delicious. I would've loved an option to have plain coconut rice, as that is what I miss most from Belize, and it's nice to get the coconut flavor separate from the beans. This is a great, healthful option and very reasonably priced at $11 for a full meal; with $15 I can easily make two good meals. The interior is quite casual, with a beautiful mural of a Mayan building on the wall, counter seating as well as a few tables, and two clean restrooms. The staff were pleasant and personable, and I feel for them having to work in this place without A/C! Because it's quite hot, they weren't offering their curry, but hopefully I can come back to try that some day.

Absolutely worth the visit to this locally recommended spot. The food is perfect and great value. Service so warm and welcoming. We ordered second servings even though we were already stuffed! Will be a regular stop when we’re in Portland. Order the double chicken. You will kick yourself if you go with the single.

The food and flavors were very good. Had the double chicken order and beans in curry. Small location, tight seating. I hope their prices don't go up more or it won't be worth the price for portions. Friendly staff great service ?Food: 5/5

The chicken was very tender and the gravy was delicious. They let you to pick up a dressing you want, and some of them were hot sauces. It's a nice meal for week day lunch.Food: 5/5

Best place to go downtown for lunch!!! Chicken rice salad, healthy, fresh, cooked to order. Can't beat the value you get here! They sell out so come early.
