We spent a week in our caravan at a designated site next to the river. It is a perfect spot to relax and immerse yourself in nature. The historic pub on site is a beautiful old building with a lovely atmosphere. Sam, the owner, is fantastic and goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. The food is delicious pub fare, and the Sunday carvery is excellent. It's best to book in advance as it is very popular. The location is ideal, and we visit several times a year. The historic town of Tewkesbury and the Cotswolds are nearby. The Lode is a great base for exploring these areas or simply unwinding in the picturesque surroundings.
Walked to the Lower Lode from Tewkesbury for a Sunday Carvery. It was well worth the walk! All the staff were friendly and chatty. We had a few drinks and a carvery each. Meat choices were beef, turkey or gammon, they all looked so nice I couldn’t decide so I had a bit of each! They were all fabulous, perfectly cooked, moist and really tasty. There was a superb range of vegetables to choose from and roasties and yorkies too. I would highly recommend and we will certainly be back again!
No criticism of the staff who are friendly and prompt and we have had meals here many times ..but today the chef at the carvery was rude ..I asked what was veggie...the roast potatoes he announced were cooked in goose fat quote the way they should be ..the gravies were meat based ..the Yorkshire pudding like cardboard ..such a great location and family friendly ..please be vegetarian friendly
We didn't eat so can't comment on the food but there was a good selection of local ales on the bar and they have camra accreditation so that says a lot. This is a proper pub with a jukebox and a pool table and where the staff and customers talk to each other. The pub is in a beautiful location right by the river and has its own campsite. Can't wait to come back and try the food.

Fab weekend away, great food and Sam and the team are second to none. Lovely room overlooking the river which was so peaceful. Great couple of nights in the pub too and Trev's Sunday carvery is delicious! Fully recommend a visit in your caravan, camper, tent or a room
This was the second time that I have camped here for a rally weekend, Can I just say how great the bar services was, the Breakfast menu was to die for and the staff out of this world look forward to the 45th
Terrible …… nice location but simply terrible food and service. I spent 2 hours waiting for food and once it turned up it was terrible… Don’t let this place ruin your day!!!

Probably one of the tastiest carvery around Gloucestershire. Live music with a great atmosphere Staff very helpful.
Food was good but place needs a good clean and start need to smarten up as they looked scruffy and to casual.
