It’s been 10 years since I last had Lucky Boy. I had been dreaming of this day! I looked online to get an address and found out there was ANOTHER LUCKY BOY!!!! I was torn between trying someplace new or going back to the original for nostalgia sake. Eventually, I opted for convenience and went to the location closest to where I was staying. I don't usually go to this lucky boy. I was excited that there is one so close the my appointment I had on walnut. The experience started out excellent as I walked in glazing at all the food on the tables. I was craving a breakfast burrito. I couldn't decide bacon or sauce. I got the sausage but wished I had asked for both. The burrito is 12.00. Kind of a lot for what you get. But a craving is a craving. I asked for extra crispy has browns they didn't come that way they were soft and mushy. It looks so yummy but I expected more potatoes and I guess was disappointed for the value and taste. With lucky boys you get an old skool vibe inside and outside the dinner. Not like Mel's with all the memorabilia... but with the service is nice, quick, and simple. The menu (the pictures and esthetic) the booths, down to the tile floor give you the feel that you walked into a late 70s dinner without being too touristy. You get the feeling you can just chill with friends or family and not have to worry. Went here after going to the rose bowl flea market. Not too crowded and the workers are nice. The ordering process is pretty efficient, you pay and they hand you a ticket to pickup once it is ready. I got their famous breakfast burrito with ham and bacon. Although the portion is great for what you pay for, I felt as if each bite was mostly potato with hints of bacon and ham. Ratios felt a little off, and even after adding the salsa it was at best a 7/10. I was super hungry too and I was kinda under the impression that this place was a little overrated. Definitely need to try more breakfast burritos that are famous, but I have also had better.

I’ve passed by Lucky Boy on Arroyo Parkway many times before, but since I’m in Pasadena, I decided to give it a try. I visited their location on Walnut and enjoyed a really good burger topped with plenty of fresh lettuce, tomato, and onions. The fries are generously sized—enough for two people to share. The meal came to $12 for a burger, fries, and a drink. There's a parking lot in the back, though street parking is limited. The staff is fast and efficient, and there’s a self-serve soda fountain available.
Been hearing about their famous breakfast burritos for a while now and finally got a chance to try it as we were in the area. We got the spicy chorizo and the classic breakfast burritos and both were delicious. They were absolutely massive so plenty of leftovers for later. Although it was pricey, it def lived up to the hype. There was a line but service was quick. They had a parking lot which can get full depending on the time but there was also plenty of street parking.
I stayed at the Westin Pasadena just down the street from this place. Was craving a breakfast burrito and this place over satisfied my craving. The burritos are more than most will be able to eat and the price is very reasonable. I also got a house coffee and honestly is better than Starbucks coffee. They fresh grind their beans everyday and open earlier than other restaurants in the area. 1
If you're in search of an excellent breakfast burrito, Lucky Boy is the spot to visit. Their burritos are huge (which is definitely a plus), making them perfect for sharing between two people. The zucchini and chili fries are crispy and packed with flavor. Plus, the service is quick! Food: 5/5
