Next, we ordered the steak pie, served with mash, carrots, and peas. The steak was incredibly tender, complemented by a rich and savory gravy. The puff pastry was placed on top, and while it would have been nice baked in a crust, that’s just a minor detail. The carrots were fresh, sliced perfectly, and bursting with flavor.
We also tried the mince and tatties, accompanied by skirlie, which is an oat-based side dish. The sauce for the mince had a subtle sweetness, and the skirlie was unique and delightful, unlike anything we had experienced before.

I wish there was a spot for a zero on the service. Food was sub par at best they couldn’t even get a burger done correctly. The service was absolutely horrible. Worse customer service that I have ever experienced. You won’t be missing anything but disappointment if you waste your time going here. I don’t usually post on Google but I’m hoping I can save others from making the same mistake we did by eating here. What a terrible mistake we made today by coming here. Worst of the worst. How they stay in business is beyond me!!!!!!!
I'm so glad we found this place! Inviting atmosphere, top notch hospitality and service, and delicious food. Portions are perfect and everything is well prepared. We got to try new foods while enjoying the Vermont landscape. Highly recommend, will certainly return! Vegetarian options: Several menu items are marked as vegetarian, there are also some gluten free options. Parking: Good sized parking lot, many open spots when we came for lunch.
First time here. We absolutely loved it! The stuffed mushroom caps are probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten! The food was amazing and staff was incredible! Lady Jane’s shop is also not to be missed. We plan on making this restaurant a regular dinner place. Everything was just so good! Highly recommend!!

We thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance! Dining on a Wednesday evening was particularly enjoyable thanks to the live music on the deck. Matt Friends were fantastic, with Matt's guitar, Paula's cello, and Mike on the beatbox creating the perfect atmosphere for our visit!
It was almost amusing to spend $16 on a slice of bread and a small bowl of lukewarm soup that had a layer of oil on top. There aren't many dining choices in Chester, but I wouldn't recommend this place. You'll likely be disappointed.
I really liked the atmosphere, the conviviality but also the food offered. We are a small French family passing through this charming little town and we were very happy to find something to eat on a Sunday evening. I recommend.
What a lovely hidden gem. The food is wonderful and the people are friendly and welcoming. I tried the haggis because why not? I highly recommend their haggis, tatties, and neeps! Incredible!
