Came on a Friday night and it was a calm and welcoming atmosphere. I love the interior of the place. I appreciate greatly that it wasn’t too crowded. Our waiter was attentive and got us everything we needed right on time, thank you again if you get to read this for your hospitality! The food here is good… if you’re going to go for anything just go and get the food please. My 7 year old ate every single shrimp that was on her plate, guys. Thankfully the pier is close by because after eating all that delicious food you’re definitely going to need a walk!
Madera in Long Island City is a true gem. The moment I stepped in, I felt like I was transported to Havana. The cozy ambiance, the rich aromas, and the lively music create an irresistible atmosphere. The food – oh, the food! It's like a symphony of flavors that dance on your taste buds. Every dish feels crafted with love and care. From the classic Cuban sandwiches to the mouthwatering plantains, Madera nailed it. It's become my go-to spot for a little slice of Cuba in the city. Five stars, hands down!
This restaurant is a fantastic choice for a date night, featuring a spacious layout and attractive decor. The food, drinks, and overall atmosphere are all delightful. While the prices are on the higher side, they are justified by the quality of the service and the food. The skirt steak with chimichurri was exquisite, and the whole red snapper with mango and black beans was equally impressive. And, of course, you can't visit this Cuban restaurant without trying their mojitos!
Overall, this restaurant is outstanding and I would be happy to return to try more dishes from the menu. The staff is very friendly and offered great suggestions for what to order. The Madera chicken is exceptional, and I also tried a few empanadas on their recommendation, which were delightful. The quality of the food is remarkable, and the portion sizes are quite generous. I highly recommend visiting if you're in the area and looking for a delicious meal!

I ordered takeout and was really let down. The yuca fries were tasteless and chewy, possibly overcooked or stale. The $14 citrus-marinated hearts of palm salad was a total disappointment—just a mix of lettuce and a few hearts of palm with no hint of marination. The Cuban sandwich was passable, but nothing special. Overall, I feel like I wasted $45 on Seamless. Perhaps this restaurant is better for dining in?
We visit Long Island City a few times a year and always make it a point to enjoy at least one or two meals during our 3-4 day stay. The service, food, and atmosphere are outstanding! You absolutely must try the White Sangria!
Always excellent food and good cocktails. Live music many nights is always a plus. Cozy indoor space and fun outdoor seating for warmer nights. Family owned and it shows in the best of ways.
