We were delighted with our experience at Magdalena. Despite living in Baltimore and never having visited before, we were impressed and will definitely return. My husband raved about his beet salad, calling it the best beet dish he's ever had. My gazpacho was refreshing and full of flavor. Both his scallops and my haddock were expertly prepared, allowing their natural tastes to shine without being overpowering. The atmosphere was elegant yet cozy, with a tasteful ambiance that didn't feel pretentious. Our service was exceptional, with only a minor hiccup in a drink order that would have been easily corrected if we had mentioned it. Overall, a truly wonderful evening.
Really excited for a great dinner. Pulled up to the bar at 6 pm. Sat down at 6.40, Meal served at 8.25. Have no idea what happened to our food, but a bit of a bummer. Order was two burgers, scallops and an appetizer shrimp. Food was fine, but notworth the wait. Asked for entrees to be comped and they were, but unfortunately a disappointing experience. Perhaps a Tuesdayand an off night, but a complete bummer, illustrated by the fact this is the first restaurant review I have ever written. Bestpart of the evening was our night cap at the bar at the Prime Rib. Reading all of the other positive review seems like we justhit them on a bad night.
Our overall experience at this restaurant was very good. The service, particularly from our waitress and the valet parking attendant, was excellent as they were friendly and kind. Our starters and main courses, especially the crab salad and whole grilled bronzino, were delicious and memorable. However, the dessert was a letdown. My companion ordered the deconstructed cheesecake, which was described as really good, but it looked like a pile of vanilla pudding with chewy graham cracker brittle. It wasn't worth the $18 price tag and was disappointing. Stick to the mains and the exceptional service and skip the desserts.
Dotty, the server was rude and hardly ever refilled our drinks. Three tables came and went before our food was even out. For how much this restaurant charges, you'd expect service to be better. Food was alright too. Apart from the hazelnut panna cottaeverything was slightly salty, but still alright. My friend's and my experience there was ruined by the service more thananything so I may be harsher than I should be. Overall wouldn't recommend going there, but many others like it, so it may beworth a shot.

Came here for date night and was not disappointed. It was a wonderful experience. The food was phenomenal, our server was attentive and fun to talk to, and the atmosphere was intimate but comfortable. Will definitely be coming back again. If you'rethinking about trying this place out don't think just do it.
Located in Mount Vernon, this restaurant is a hidden gem. I decided to take my husband here for his birthday and we were both blown away by the amazing food, romantic ambiance, and friendly service staff. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion.

The food was amazing. Service was a little slow so we were there a lot longer than we anticipated, but overall it’s a great place and we will come back.
