People stop spelling it baHN mi. It's baNH mi. It's a Viet dish not a German road. With that out of the way, my review for this place...<br <br Crusty bread, fresh ingredients, perfect meat to salad ratio, good pickle flavour plus a whole bunch of side options available. Pretty good all round. Mega points for having vegan options. It's listed as vegetarian, but they don't use fish sauce for their vegetarian options (which is a huge feat given this is Vietnamese). Only thing to keep in mind though is that the vegetarian roll uses tofu in a mock meat manner. Quality up there I reckon with many restaurants although it's a humble sized serving. Ambience: as basic as it gets. I like the pot plants at the entry. Service: definitely friendly and fast. Good order number system so that there are not mistakes. Verdict: the place is pretty popular with local office workers. It's a great healthier alternative to burgers and pies for lunch. Can they do a good Banh Mi ?

The line out of the door at lunch time confirmed that Mai's is still serving up great food. The banh mi still seem to be the most popular item followed by noodle salads. They also have a specials board and on this occasion I felt like something soupy so tried their beef noodle soup. Plenty of tender beef and lots of herbs. It was a good choice. Fresh ingredients and well made bahn mi. Slightly more expensive than others in the area but nothing to cry about. I had the combo and it was very nice. Nice quantity of chili also.CASH ONLY. NO EFTPOS

Excellent Bahn Mi, superb value! Also delicious grilled chicken thighs too! I'm sure the rest of the stuff is good too but I'm just stuck on the Bahn Mi and grilled chicken thighs, haha!
