I have seen quite a few reviews (of this and other places where people feel that they get a bad service if they don 't speak French. Maison Chevallot was our “go to” place for a quick delicious snack at Val-d’Isère! They are rated as “meilleur ouvrier de France” which is an endorsement of exceptional quality here in France. We loved their blueberry tarts but even their sandwiches made a great lunch snack. Don’t miss their signature hot chocolate made with locally sourced milk which is just something else, and their Beaufort cheese and ham pie which is divine. They also have a huge range of items you can take home Naturally quality creates footfall so try to time your visit not to match peak times which are of course, lunch time and just after the pistes close. Other than those times, we never waited more than 5 minutes.
Nous avons découvert cette boulangerie par hasard et n’avons pas été déçus : viennoiseries excellentes, très bon pain, sandwiches goûteux. C’est très bon et les vendeurs/euses sont très attentionnés et polis. Les prix sont un peu plus élevés qu’en vallée et le choix est limité si on arrive en milieu de matinée.

we go regularly to the claret store, the choice has never been so poor. more apricotines while they were delicious. a measurable patisserie. having only one pastry on, is not an excuse, maybe managing with such a ratio is to review even if the staff is rare. disappointment
Terrible! Not enough staff in cafe and people pushing in front when they knew my young son and I were first. Staff so rushed off their feet they didn’t keep track of who came in first. Waited about 30 mins then walked out.
Amazing array of sweet and savoury treats. The Chevallot in the centre of town does these amazing chorizo baguettes which are like pizza dough and are unbelievably addictive. Never fails :
A delicious bakery. They have an authentic french baguette, so delicious. The pastries are fresh and full of flavour. Worth a visit

Rude rude and rude . Young girl with pony tail needs serious training in customer service . No excuse for bad manners ever .
A beautiful little boulangerie in the heart of val d’isere. Incredible food all freshly hand made. Highly recommended.
